Business Tips: Breaking the Rules to Win in Business

Awesome Tip: Breaking the Rules to Win in Business

I’ve hired thousands of people over the last 20 years.

And I’ve never looked at a resume.

I’ve always been biased towards “yes” instead of “no” … towards “offense” instead “defense” … and it’s been one of the biggest advantages throughout the course of my career.

I talk more about “playing outside the rules” to win the game in this video. Check it out and let me know what you thought in the comments!

  1. His point on improbability of being alive is so spot on!
And his examples of how entrepreneurship is different from being an athlete or a signer is fantastic (as an athlete you get exposed if you don't perform, while as entrepreneur it might take years to realize it).

  2. Reality is simple, why would you hire someone based on a resume? aka piece of paper.I can literally write down whatever I want, including last 4 scenes in fast and furios and how I'm bestfriends with Vin Diesel…
No man,I would never hire someone based on papers….I would hire based on passion, fire, drive, enthuziasm, confidence, selling skills, bodylanguage…Now these are indeed important aspects depending on the business model of course, but papers?
    Nope… <3

  3. This is so awesome Gary, the thing you said at the beginning about how you have never looked at anyone's resume before, really hit home for me, especially considering I am home-schooled. I hope that I will get the chance to meet you one day. Billy Bloomfield remember the name.
