  1. Take away: Distribute/Document over create
What's so interesting about that is that it takes the pressure off being curated (even presumably fake) and allows the person to find their voice, exercise that 'creating' muscle (training that skill), and presumably present the most honest version of theirselves (through the lens of social media or whatever platform which will always have a degree of 'presentation). I think it takes the pressure off comparison of high quality content that wins praise and simply allows the viewer/consumer to know who you are and what you have to offer. What's sort of beautiful about that is it displays our human need to connect and be known and our desire to know others.
I'd so rather watch an instagram story from a close friend or person I know then spend hours wrapped up in a curated image that doesn't connect or feel real.
We need each other. In any form of success, it's never singular. Your hard work then creates a reaction. If the work didn't generate a response then it wasn't actually 'work'. "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

  2. I have been living my life for the past 10 years trying to be who I wish I was. It led me to eventually have a mental break down that let me know things were wrong. I have been on my journey of self awareness I found myself stumbling on your videos. I thought as a 25 year old college drop out my life was over. Thank you for your videos I feel like I found you at a perfect time in my life. I am at a cross road of now that I have done the personal growth what I want to do now and the fear of failure has been keeping me stuck. Your realness means a lot.

  3. It’s so crazy watching this and the entire point Gary is making is having self awareness and being authentic and at no point could the guy he’s talking to admit that he didn’t know where he was going career wise. This is the exact time to let down the defense and just learn from an open book like Gary and he passed it up. Crazy

  4. Gary your advice is gold! And you give it away for free, you're such an inspiration. I used Igrocket com like you said to get my instagram campaign going, I have doubled my etsy sales via insta thanks to your advice. Love you Gary!

  5. The biggest takeaway for me is definitely: document vs create and its because I love the idea of taking the pressure off of trying to make something daily that is original. Nothing is ever original anymore, everything is just innovation of the past. A different rendition, a different process. But thats where documentation shines. Its showing more than one way of doing something. Document. That's what I'll do.

  6. The same idea I heard in The Gary Vee Audio Experience yesterday: “Just filming yourself on your hustle- and talking about your truth- that’s the content you need to put out.”
Documentation vs Creation. The documentation mindset fires my internal editor immediately- there’s no relevance to handwringing beforehand about what’s good or clean enough to post.

  7. Gary! Last night i had a breakdown. I am trying to achieve a goal and i have a vision. But last night I could only think of the reasons why i can't do it. I was completely enclosed in this shell of "You don't have the talent to do it"… and it was showing because i constantly felt like i wasn't doing anything towards reaching the vision. This video just showed me that literally doing anything in the general direction of my goal still counts as movement. I want to thank you so much for making your words public to someone like me ALL THE WAY IN SOUTH AFRICA. I really hope to meet you one day. You've earned my respect through this one video. Thank You

  8. Biggest takeaway by far: Finding your truth, your passion, your dream, and carrying that out. Your journey is always going to be the biggest part of everything you do. Quoting Russ, "Ain't no destination man, the journey is everything" Finding who you truly are and having the confidence, the willpower, and the trust in yourself that you can achieve anything you put your mind to is insane, perspective truly is everything like you said. Perspective and your views on everything is what will dictate how you run your life. Even though this is an old video, thank you for always sharing your knowledge, you truly change lives Gary.

  9. One thing that I took from this video, is when you said document don’t create. Sometimes I find myself in a block, but as soon as I read an inspiring quote it makes me feel good. So why not share that and share with others along the process of me being down but being inspiredThrough changing my point of attraction. Thank you Gary,

  10. Biggest Takeaway: Don't give into the "rules" of society and their "metrics for success". I know how to get where I want to go.
I wont follow social norms and opinions… because I dont want a normal life.
Im going to win based on my own strengths and metrics for success.
